The Golden Rule...when driving your car!

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

I have a confession to make: I am the world's most inconsiderate car driver! I don't mean to be. Its just that I always seem to be running late and I'm distracted by other things. But recently, I was taken aback by the look of outrage on another driver's face as I pulled out in front of him. I was in a hurray as usual. I waved apologetically as I cut him off. He actually threw up his arms in disgust. And in that moment, I saw myself the way he saw me: inexcusably selfish and rude.

We learn the golden rule as children. Maybe that's because it takes a lifetime to practice it. Ever since that incident in my car on the road, I have thought a lot about how I treat other people when I'm driving. Now, when I get behind the wheel, I take a deep breath and remember that everyone is on their way somewhere, just like me.
